You adjust Shopify inventory from the keyboard

TallyGrid is a keyboard grid for inventory adjustments. It is for Shopify merchants who count stock and correct it. Free is $0 and includes 25 adjustment lines a month on one location. Single location is $7.99 a month, and Multi location is $14.99 a month. Each of those two plans includes a 14-day trial.

You search by SKU, barcode, or product title, and you pick a location. On a row, type +12 to add, -3 to remove, or =40 to set the quantity. A number on its own adds that many, so 1,200 adds 1,200.

Review puts your numbers next to the live stock and marks a row if Shopify changed it after you loaded the page. A relative change is applied to the stock Shopify has now, so a sale during the count stays in the total. When you save, the reason is written to Shopify's inventory history. Undo reverses a saved batch if stock hasn't changed since. You can export the history to CSV. Each save is one location.

TallyGrid is coming to the Shopify App Store. Email help@tallygridapp.com to hear when it's live.

Example rows

One location

Example rows for one location
You type Reason
+12 Received
-3 Damaged
=40 Count
1,200 Correction

This is an example, not the live grid. Typing 1,200 adds 1,200. A new shop starts with Correction, Damaged, Count, and Received, and you can edit those reasons in Settings.

How a count works

1

You type the quantity on the row

Type +12 to add, -3 to remove, or =40 to set the quantity. You can also type 1,200, which adds 1,200. Tab moves to the next row. Alt+1 through Alt+9 sets the reason on the row you are on.

2

You set the reason with Alt and a number

Shopify stores the reason in inventory history. A new shop starts with Correction, Damaged, Count, and Received. You can change that list in Settings.

3

You check Review, then you save

Review marks rows whose stock changed after you loaded them. You save one location at a time.

Questions

What is TallyGrid, and who is it for?

TallyGrid is a keyboard grid for inventory adjustments. It is for Shopify merchants who count stock and correct it.

What does TallyGrid cost?

Free is $0 and includes 25 adjustment lines a month on one location. Single location is $7.99 a month, and Multi location is $14.99 a month. Each of those two plans includes a 14-day trial.

How do I enter a quantity?

Type +12 to add, -3 to remove, or =40 to set the quantity. A number on its own adds that many, so 1,200 adds 1,200. Tab moves to the next row. Alt+1 through Alt+9 sets the reason on the row you are on.

How do reasons work?

Each row has its own reason. Shopify's inventory history stores that reason. A new shop starts with Correction, Damaged, Count, and Received. You can change the reasons in Settings.

What does Review do?

Review compares your changes with the live stock and marks rows that changed after you loaded them. A relative change is applied on top of the current stock, so a sale during a count is kept.

Can I adjust more than one location in one save?

No. Multi location works with all your locations. You save one location at a time.

Do notes show up in Shopify inventory history?

Notes are saved in TallyGrid only. Shopify's history shows the reason.

Can I scan barcodes?

You can search by barcode, SKU, or product title. There is no scanner mode.

Can I undo a batch or export it?

Undo reverses a saved batch if stock hasn't changed since. You can export the history to CSV.
